My stay in Ethiopia was productive as we were able to hold a training session in Hawassa, Ethiopia, that enabled a great group of men and women athletes to experience our beautiful game.
The training session included a formal greeting accompanied by myself and other prominent adapted sports personalities. The Vice President for Paralympic sport for the Hawassa region organized the training event complete with local traditional dancers.
The Paralympic VP was particularly pleased when we had all the male and female goalkeepers run 100 meters after the training. He happens to be a certified Paralympic athletics coach! I believe he discovered some new talent.
I will continue to follow-up on the development of our sport there, with the vision of reaching out to Ethiopia’s war torn neighbors Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan and South Sudan as well.
