Excitement was off the charts when the Haitian national amputee soccer team recently won the regional qualifying tournament to participate in the 2022 World Cup of Amputee Soccer. It will be held in Turkey September 30 – October 9. Haiti finished first among the five participating countries. The United States and Mexico will also join Haiti at the World Cup. Plans now call for a national tournament in Haiti to identify more players followed by several training camps. The competition among the 24 competing counties will be intense.
