The Haitian National Amputee Soccer Team will play an exhibition game at a special event from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at the Stillwater Event Center, 9842 E. Bankhead. In addition to the exhibition game, there will be an art show featuring the works of Francillion Cherry, one of the team leaders. Live music and food from Chef Michael Thomson of Michaels Cuisine will be served.
The Haitian team is traveling through Texas on its way to the Cup of the Americas Soccer Tournament in Los Angeles. While in the local area, four team members will be fitted with prosthetic legs by local resident Tim Goldberg. The July 22 event is designed to help raise finds for the prosthetic limbs.
Admission is $20.
