The Haiti National Amputee Soccer Team just received their American visas and will be traveling shortly to compete in the Cup of Americas Amputee Soccer tournament in Irvine, California July 28-30.
Following the 2010 catastrophic earthquake which injured thousands, the Haiti Amputee Football Association was formed and affiliated with the World Amputee Football Federation. The team has participated in several international events and brought great honor to Haiti when they reached the quarter finals in the 2014 Mexico World Cup. Haiti was rated #7 in the world.
The current team has many young players who are earthquake victims. Four of these players will be fitted with leg prostheses by Operation Go Quickly Director of Prosthetics, Tim Goldberg, CP.
Tim and Prostheticare will be hosting a meet and greet event with the team July 22 in Aledo, Texas. If you will be in the metroplex, please drop by and meet the team. Details are found above.
