Operation Go Quickly, a Fort Worth based community non-profit organization, serves people with disabilities in the less economically developed countries worldwide. Operation Go Quickly believes that a well functioning amputee soccer program can drastically change the perception of people with disabilities.
The Haitian Amputee Soccer Team, ranked #7 in the world, is traveling through DFW area on their way back from Irvine, CA after defeating the USA National Team in an invitational tournament. Many of the team members are miraculous survivors of the catastrophic 2010 earthquake, which killed up to 300,000 of their countrymen. While in the local area, four team members will be fitted with prosthetic legs by local resident Tim Goldberg. The August 10-15 events are designed to help raise funds for the prosthetic limbs, their travel expenses and to raise awareness.
Lockheed Martin Employees will be partnering with Operation Go Quickly and community volunteers to support the cause. For further information, contact Jose Daniel (jos.danielj@gmail.com) Phone: (682) 478-6005.
